Parima

Parima was a well traveled artist who specialized in portraits and the human figure. She is publicly and privately recognized for her vibrant strokes and brilliantly colored paintings, pastels and sketches.

Since her childhood in Teheran, she was sensitive to her surroundings and fascinated with facial expressions and the emotions of the people she interacted with. She showed an early aptitude in drawing and later focused on classical drawing techniques.

Soon after receiving her B.A. from the Teheran University, Teheran, Iran she moved to the United States at the age of 22. She spent most of her adult life mastering her pastel and painting technique.

Parima was a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Western Society of Artists and an associate member of the Pastel Society of America.

Painting from a live model in her Woodside, California studio or on site capturing the beauty of the Northern California landscape she moved with ease from pastel to oil maintaining in both her signature nervous, fresh and spontaneous strokes.

Parima lived in Woodside, California with her family for her last 27 years.

Parima accepted a limited number of commisions every year.
